On October 20, 2015, Naari was co-founded by two highly experienced gynaecologists from Ahmedabad, Dr Darshna Thakker and Dr Riddhi Ketan Shukla. Dr. Darshna Thakker, who runs the Sarjan Maternity and Nursing Home in Vasna, is driven by the desire to make a difference. She has spoken to over 50,000 females about a variety of topics, authored several books, and launched a series on innovative healthcare management. Aarogyam Speciality Hospital is run by Dr Riddhi Ketan Shukla, who has worked tirelessly for women's health. She is a high-risk pregnancy expert who has spoken at various forums about women's health and wellness.
As she move forward in expanding our activities from our new venture "NAARI," for women, by women, focusing on women's health and wellness, in order to build a concrete organisation, we invited women from various fields of expertise to come and join our core advisory committee, which would be instrumental in planning, strategizing, and conceptualising various campaigns and activities that we wish to run under this banner. She wants to create a healthy society for women through collaborative efforts from everyone.
Women Empowerment
Women Empowerment is the process of increasing a woman's economic, political, social, educational, gender, or spiritual strength. Dr. Darshna Thakker has addressed women of all ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, and educational levels through group discussions, seminars, and one-on-one counselling, but a few issues they all face. Women can now be found in almost every profession, including architecture, law, finance, engineering, medicine, and information technology. They have also entered service occupations such as nurse, beautician, salesperson, waitress, and so on.
They are slowly but steadily marching into previously male-only domains (police, driver's army, pilots, chartered accountants, commandos). Despite their increasing numbers in every field, women continue to be one of the world's most underutilised resources (Unrecognized). Sarjan also provides a lot of career counselling and group discussions for women to help them value their potential and create their identity in today's world.
Although women earn the same as their husbands, their employment contributes significantly to the family and gives the family an economic advantage over families with only one breadwinner. This new phenomenon has also given women economic power, which they were previously completely reliant on men for. Women who are financially independent are more confident in their personal lives. Since Sarjan's inception, Dr. Thakker has attempted to empower women by providing them with jobs based on their educational qualifications.
