Sparsh Foundation was established in 2015 as a charitable trust, but its activities have been ongoing for over two decades as individual nameless efforts to serve society.
Sparsh Foundation is a large umbrella organisation under which we intend to carry out a variety of social activities for the betterment of humanity. It is a continuation of the Mission of touching lives and making a difference that has been ongoing for many years. Mrs Namrata Ronak Shodhan began singing at a young age. She has been singing and teaching bhakti sangeet to other women since 1998. Dr Darshna Thakker is a practising gynaecologist and runs her own hospital. We have about 45 Cd's in her voice and all of the money collected (except for the making cost) is donated for dialysis of poor kidney failure patients. She has a dynamic personality and has been involved in philanthropic activities related to women's health.
Sparsh Foundation's goal is to streamline all of the good causes that we have started and raise support for them. We don't believe in words, but in making it happen through teamwork.
Celebrating Girl Child
Dr. Darshna Thakker is passionate about this initiative. Every daughter born at Sarjan Maternity and Nursing Home brings us great joy. It gives me great pleasure to inform you that Dr Darshna Thakker has written a book (Parichay Pustika: 1248) titled "Chalo Dikri Janma ne Vadhavie" (Let us celebrate the birth of a girl child) that has been published by Image Publication. She has covered the social scenario of Indian society in this book. She tries to convey a simple message of thinking beyond our society's deeply ingrained obsession with having a male child. She has written from the perspective of an unborn female foetus, her mother, a father's dilemma, family members, and societies.
Her only message to society is that every child is a gift from God, and we have no right to kill them simply because she is a girl; rather, her birth should be celebrated because she will make her family happy and proud.
Sarjan facilitates HER life journey by guiding her toward a healthy lifestyle and providing medical/surgical care at various stages of her life. She has given numerous public talks on the subject at a variety of public forums.
